The largest country in Central America is also one of the most important eco-regions in Mesoamerica with an abundant biological diversity and unique ecosystem. Known as the “Land of Lakes and Volcanoes”, this tropical country is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Caribbean to the east. Needless to say, its sandy cove beaches are amongst the most beautiful you will ever see. Other interesting sites to visit and to take pictures of are the Huellas de Acahualinca – the 2,100 year old human footprints preserved in volcanic mud near the lake in Managua, Nicaragua – and the city of Granada, a historical town with a rich colonial heritage, seen in its architecture and layout.
